vibrations on 98 Max SE

I'm getting excessive vibrations at high speeds (over 70 mph). Just had the brakes replaced and rotors resurfaced. My only guess would be the tires. Front tires look like they are somewhat worned on the inside of both tires. Maybe due to over inflation on my end. Could replacing these front tires solve my problem? What else should I be looking at? Please help. I'm at 99K with an 98 Max SE.

Thanks.

Sounds like the tires may be your problem.

Sounds like either they are out of balance, have a tread seperation which causes a lump in the tire that causes vibration. Take it to Discount Tire and let them check it out.

If this problem started after you had this work done then I would take it back to them.

I think your tires need to be balanced. You could also need an allignment.

If the tires are worn excessively more on the inside than on the outside, then you definitely need an alignment. If the tires are worn badly or un-even, balance would be off too. Turning the rotors would only help if the vibration came from braking.

These are one of these problems where the process of elimination is the only way to go. Use the search function too...there are numerous maxima owners with the same problem as you.

It could be: wheels, tires, alignment, balance, uneven tire pressure, toe/camber, etc.

Lots of factors here.
