Yes. Main difference between 4th and 5th gen headers is the EGR bung on the rear header and extra o2 bungs.

If the headers look like this then I wouldn't bother.

I had a set of these generic shorties a few years back, only installed the y pipe that came with em. They were initially 1/4" off and I had to spend some time with a hammer and crowbar to make the y pipe fit on my stock exhaust manifolds.

You will still get decent gains over the stock y pipe. You can install them if you want to. Some people don't want to go through the hassle for the little gains of shorty headers when they could do the same amount of work with headers that have longer primaries (cattman & OBX) and free up even more power. I doubt they will crack.

Those $275 y pipes definitely don't look like the cheap ebay stuff. The 179 set is just that, cheap ebay parts.

For the record, I am not knocking ebay parts at all. I am running a set of eBay headers for an Altima, but that's another story.

Yeah I actually found some of those El Cheapo Headers as low as $129 and as high as $220.....I'd spend that little money and fab them to work perfectly if necessary so they fit together without any stress! I'm sure they're a upgrade to the stock manifold and ypipe but longer headers promote better scavenging and more torque....

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention 95-99 and 00-01 are compatible and a perfect fit all have EGR port provisions where as 02-03 don't have any EGR provisions.....like these:
