I got lazy, was going to do the radiator, at the moment of truth caved in and let the shop do it because I went in to ask them to drill out broken bolts from the radiator support brackets. I'm feeling jackass's remorse now for letting myself get robbed $100 extra bucks that could have been saved by doing it myself.

SAVE YOURSELVES......the MONEY!! No one will care more about your car than you!

wrong forum but anyways..this is true..u were better off grinding the bolts out yourself...my friend took his car to a shop to change his brake pads and his transmission that was slipping and he ended up paying $2000...totally robbed...and at the end of the day the transmission that they supposedly fixed gave out and he had to spend 2200 on a new one...so do the work yourself or if you are gonna take it to a shop it better be someone you know cuz otherwise 9 times outta 10 they will screw you over

yeah. I took my car to get the pass axle replaced and they fked it up. now I leak transmission fluid.

 

did they replace the axle seal?

you might ask around and find an honest repair shop, start asking people they do exist, many are small but big enuf to have diagnostic equipment, find one where the owner works in it every day

 

I hear that. I got a $140 quote to change my rad. I went home,jack up my car,drain out the rad fluid,change the rad,bleed the system but air pockets in less than an hour with no clue of experience how to do it. Felt damn good to save myself from paying to do something so easy. If you think you can do it then do it,just have a plan B...

 

I must admit that I was lazy for a while until I had some ac work done and they poked a hole in my leather seat. Now the car(s) have not been to the shop in years. Some things will really test you though like my current exhaust problem.

 

Thankfully i've found an honest, cheap mechanic.
Had front rotors and front and rear pads replaced, rear left caliper and front right
caliper replaced, driver side axle replaced, new plugs put in- $240 labor

 

Id you got the time and the tools, do it yourself I'm all about saving money, was going to get my mechanic to install my headers for 250, but did it myself, usually you don't need that many tools anyway.....Good Luck Next Time Around.....
