so I changed my mind on the receiver. Now set on this one:
http://www.amazon.com/JVC-KWHDR81BT-...1764708&sr=1-1
Same as I listed above, but with BLuetooth and HD Radio INCLUDED as well.

Still on the fence about Ypipe, will probably end up getting one from Warpspeed since its 150 dollar difference than cattman...

The lowering will be the BIG one...that will probably not happen until fall, when I have saved up for it.

Forgive the poor quality of the below pictures...cell phone cam under the car LOL but I think I see the O2 sensor wire over there behind the cat...which would confirm my FED spec max. Someone who knows care to confirm this for me? Thanks

This is a Cali spec engine. Notice the FOUR plugs on the front of the engine block, just right of the oil dipstick.

Fed specs only have two plugs right there. One is a 02 sensor plug the other is something else that I don't know what it is.

So if you don't have all these plugs then you are rocking a FED spec. if you do, then it is Cali.

Hahaha you guys are great!

I think I am going to go ahead and get the warpspeed y pipe for 200 bucks...I looked and it appears as if the oxygen sensors are unaffected by this mod since they are before the precats and one after the main cat. Since its not cali spec, there are no o2 sensors that are monitoring the precats, so I should have no issues with o2 sensors throwing codes.

Hold on tight the ride is about too begin! I've been modding cars since I was 18 yrs old! It started with easy things like high grade performance spark plug wires, plugs, ignition coils, painting this & that, shortening ole school stick shifters into short throw shifters, different wheels and tires, exhaust stuff, mostly the samething you youngsters are doing these days....and I loved it then and love it still to this day, with having the internet these days makes it easier to find this or that...and miniaturize the world into one community and ppl are more in tune with what mods are good or not worth screwing with....I've been messing with cars for nearly 30 yrs now and I wouldn't trade it for anything else guys...Have fun Bro!

Glad to help you with this, recently replaced my sensors, but researched for like 3 months before taking that on. (i think WAAAY too much about things before getting the courage to do them)

But yeah the 02 sensors are a dead give away for which spec you have. Luckily I am FED spec as well.

Wish I had to the funds to satiate the mod bug I have. Its driving me nuts! Good luck in your mods man!

Just bought me an Addco RSB off of one of the guys here in the forums

Went with the RSB after doing research on eliminating body roll...it should help a bit now, as I do tend to take corners a bit on the, energetic side, shall we say

BUMP

Since I paid off my CCs not that long ago, I have a bit o cash to play around with...so I ended up buying a few things for the max:

*Ionic Dynamics rear window / roof spoiler
*red/smoked tails

I found this on amazon...can anyone confirm that this is indeed what it looks like? Illumina setup with springs for 650 bucks?
Amazon Amazon

ILK 246 looks to be the proper kit for the 95-3/99 maxima, which mine is (7/98).

Also looking into getting tint, but will likely not do that until springtime.

Still thinking warpspeed Y pipe, but the "bees in a can" worries me a bit...I've got a dynomax super turbo muffler, and that's it for exhaust. Also read a few posts where there was not that much low-end difference.

Yup thats the illumina suspension kit.

With stock cat, b pipe and a quiet muffler like yours I hardly think it'll be raspy. 2.5-5k rpm is noticeably livelier with a y pipe. You can grab the cattman one for 350 plus shipping in the classifieds or have warpspeed make an ss304 one for you and pair it with a magnaflow 2.5" cat for about 400 shipped.

yeah, I saw that...it's the same price directly from cattman, since they're both new. Still unsure of the 150 dollar price premium from Warpspeed to cattman

And I may just wait and do Y- pipe and suspension this summer, too. And just do the tails, roof wing and tint before then.

Coilovers and what ever y pipe. I still dont believe in any significant difference from ebay to warpspeed to catman.... if you have the money buy cattman. Why not? If you could care less then go with ebay. I hope wizard doesnt read this about cattman.....

Wheels... have two pairs. Why not? Buy the z ones

Buy coilovers. Its been said millions of times. . Do it right the first time.

Dont cheap out! Go ***** out!! If you can only get one because it cost a ****load then so be it!

Yeah, the 350z tourings are the third choice...I prefer teh G35s or the 5.5gen 6 spokes Not sure the color of the TE wheels would go as well as the gray/silver stock, with my BT4 lakeshore blue

Welp, just bought a new Cattman Y pipe

good choice. whered you get yours? im rocking the 6 spoke 350z tourings, and while they are somewhat heavy they look really nice on a 4th gen. pretty sporty.

personally, my experience with these struts/springs, wasnt good. i got them in my old max and my handling got worse than the stock ones that were shot. only two weeks into having them, i lost control on a real easy turn and lost it. max burned up in a firey crash . with my new max im gonna go all out and find some good coilovers. idk if i just had a defective set or if my mechanic just did a bad job or somthing, but thats just my outlook on tokico hp
