Goodbye everyone :/

I have finally been nickle'd and dime'd by my Maxi that I cannot afford to keep up with the maintenance. Other opportunities have opened up for me and it's time to move on. I found a new car and it's time to put the Max up for sale.

I honestly loved this forum and the people in it, it's a GREAT community and I would just like to say thanks to everyone who has helped me. I know I won't feel like I'm at home on any other forum other but this one.

Good luck to everybody with their 4th gens. I'm sure I'll lurk to see going on in the Maxi world. Thanks again.

I've done a lot of repairs and still have problems with it I think it's just at the point where everything is old and needs to be replaced...

Thats understandable. Thats probably one of the easiest vehicles to fix/work on and find parts for so if anything does go wrong then you can easily do it yourself. Plus its bullet proof reliable.

Unfortunately you'll be put into the Honda Civic category of drivers...

FYI the civic forums aren't great, every other thread is face-palm worthy but I guess you'll get used to that.

I was looking around on a few of their forums and it didn't seem the same as this... It's no biggie I still have my friend who I'm buying the car from that will help me out no matter what. I just needed a reliable car that's cheap to fix and I can still "max out". I'm gonna miss that term

Well that's the luck I've been having with the Maxima for the past 3 years. $700 in repairs in the course of a week... Outrageous. I've spent more money on fixing all the things wrong with the car than I did to actually buy the car. I'm buying it off of a buddy of mine and I know he took really good care of it. The engine was refurbished and runs like new. I'm sorry guys, nothing agaist Nissan or the Maximas but this car has been nickle and diming me left and right since I first bought it.

Nickle and diming is the name of the game sometimes, you have to of been taking care of it since early on. Cant buy one with over 150k and then start with the babying you know? a refurb engine? Like new internals?

Good luck bro, you won't regret it,this coming from a civic and maxima owner the possibility is endless owning a civic.

Ok, there is a good explanation as to why I had so many problems. I bought it with 153,000. 3rd owner and only had it for 2 1/2 years. The people I bought it from were a married couple with a child and he had put a lot into repairs as well I have all the receipts. Must have been beaten up by the 1st owner...

In regards to the engine; Yes. Same block, just new internals and such. Cleaned up really nice and runs so smooth you can walk by it and not even know the engine is running.

Thanks a lot and that's good to hear. I know my buddy baby'd this car and right now it's in the body shop because he is getting the bumper, fender, and hood repainted for me. She looks beautiful! I owe this guy big time.

700.00 isnt $hit, i spent that in a month doing a bunch of stuff. it isnt always gonna break down if you keep on top of it. http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f42/ho...ck-lol-384693/ ooooooo, hahahahaha http://www.streetfire.net/video/crx-...oom_742610.htm

I spent $700 in a week and that was just the things I knew where wrong with it. There were other things I should have gotten fixed but I don't have the money to do it. In regards to the first link, that's not what I do and I know the power of the civic I am getting and it is in no way, shape or form something I will be street racing with. The second link... I'm not getting a CRX or a CRX motor. Nor will I be boosting this car anytime soon and definitely not with this stock motor. I got this car because I know my buddy took extremely good care of it and so I can have a fun daily driver.

Edit:
Ok now going back to what Tyutyunnik said, I understand how I will be viewed as a typical Honda Civic rice head driver... but this is going to be my cruising car. I know this car is not putting out 400hp I'm not going to drive around acting like it does. I won't be racing this car, I just want to cruise around, look good, sound good, run good, and learn how to drive stick.

Well you guys are right... I'm already looking to get rid of this civic. Had to replace the clutch and throw out bearing. 3rd gear is non existent, it usually pops out right away or will only stay in gear for a couple seconds. I was better off with the Maxi in a way. Even though it was falling apart it was still drivable.

This is true I would definitely consider it but my parents might give me a hard time about it considering they know what I went through with the other one.

I know it was I have nothing against Maximas. I knew I happened to get stuck with one that was probably beat up and not driven like it should.

My mechanic is not a fan of Nissan for the exact reason of my problems. I know if that if I get another 4th gen or go to a 5th gen he'll be even more critical after looking it over because of what I had gone through. No, it didn't take long. I'm 19, going for computer certs in college, work part time and have a girlfriend in PA (I'm in Jersey, 65 miles apart). I don't know if it's just this Civic but I don't like driving stick. I picked a bad time to learn and get used to it more or less.

That's what I'm thinking about doing. I just like them plus the Maxi community is amazing. I didn't even bother signing up on a civic forum. Not the same. I'm half tempted coming back to the Maxi game. As far as my love for going fast and modding and all that good stuff, I'm not getting back into it. Nothing goes according to plan and I waste mad money.

So the Nissan to Honda curse is true?

Its funny, I've actually considered getting a Civic for a while to get better mileage.

First hand experience I believe in the curse. I'm just not happy with the car either. Not the same as the Maxi. If anything I wish I got another Maxima that was in better condition. I'm one who learns from mistakes the hard way and when it actually happens to me. 50% chance of a "Hello Again Everyone" thread in the next few weeks.

Well guys, it looks like I'm back. I just test drove a 2000 gle today and I'm in love. 9 grand and only 33,000 miles!!! Couldn't pass it up. Gold with tan interior. She's a beauty. I almost got an 05 Acura TL but being only 19 and working part time and class taking up most of my time I couldn't afford that.
