5th Gen A/C lines in a 4th Gen
Will a 2001 maxima a/c lines bolt right on to my 4th gen maxima without any issues? My 1996 a/c compressor just went out on me and I have a 2001 maxima a/c compressor lying around that is in good condition.
Well, as I have now found out, the diameter of the two 4th gen a/c lines are a little bit smaller than those of a 5th gen, on the side that bolts on the compressor. The 5th gen has a little bit wider holes while everything else is the same. No sure about the other end since I don't have a 5th gen to compare.
I was wondering, if I purchase 2001 maxima a/c lines from the yard tomorrow, would they fit in my 1996 maxima on the other side of the condenser or would I have to get the original a/c compressor for my 4th gen? Thanks and any help would be appreciated.

You would have to replace all the components of the AC system in order for that to work otherwise you'd run into the same problem of the ports not matching up. So to answer your question...no.
