Clutch Q

I was aggressively driving my car home tonight after a meet. I put it in 4th, no issues....get back on the gas, it just rev'd. Looked down to make sure I didn't miss. Nope, definitely in 4th. no power.

Pulled over, slight clutch smell but not really strong like they usually do when clutches explode. The pedal feel is still normal. The tranny still shifts into all gears no problem. I'm pretty positive this is the OEM clutch on the car, 186k miles 5 speed. I push the car hard on a daily basis. No burnouts or clutch dumps though.

I put it in 1st, you can hear a clattering noise and you can feel it on your foot when on the clutch. Question, should I just buy a clutch and flywheel now? Time is of the essence, need my car running.

should u buy a clutch and flywheel?? The clutch u will def need. The flywheel..u will need to inspect it to see if it needs replacing.

Im against any aftermarket flywheel except fidanza. I think they the only reputable aftermarket flywheel i would trust (too many horror stories about other manufacturers)

OEM clutch kit FTW. Autozone ACDELCO kit good too. I dont trust aftermarket ebay chinese clutch kjt. Thats jus me man...

Dont forget to clean them mating surfaces
