Tries to start, but won't
My '97 SE has a good battery. But for some reason on any random day of the week it just won't turn over. It tries and tries but I have to take the key out and start it again, after which it starts just fine. It might be the starter but is there a way to tell if it is?
Thanks
Thanks
OP, if you want to test your starter, just remove it and bring it to Autozone to have it tested.
Bad ignition circuit contacts in the ign switch, or just slop between the lock cylinder and ign switch. We've seen it before. Search for ignition switch tape trick. On my Droid so can't post links, sorry.
Engine cranks but wont start.
Removing the key helps, which indicates the issue is there.

I agree - He states that removing the key and reinserting it starts the car.
