I have the same problem but are you talking about the steering wheel that vibrates? I haven't had time to find out what the problem is tho...

Same problem--solution
I had the same problem for about two months--Shing mentioned it was a tire balance problem. The problem I had was that after purchasing new tires from firestone, they didn't balance it right and right past the 70mph mark on the speedomenter, the steerign wheel would vibrate--and when I braked above the 70mph mark, the steering would give me some vibration until it was slowed down to about 65mph...
I didn't notice this after having my wheel rebalanced...so perhaps you shoudl look into that.
let me know if you guys had the similar problem.

bits of vibration
I still feel a very mild vibration on the steering wheel and that could be just from the road surfaces. It is so mild that unless you pay keen attention to it, you won't recognize the vibration.
I was on the turnpike today and did about 100 not for too long but stayed with in the 85-95 zone and tried to see what type of vibration is left and there is not too much left in the steering wheel after the wheel balance last week...
drop 20 bucks and get those wheels rebalanced and see what happens.
=)

1) tires out of round or strange wear patterns due to lowering
2) improperly balanced wheels
3) a bent rim
4) bad alignment(which usually does not directly cause tire vib, but it wears the tires and causes vibrations)
5) warped rotors
6) bad suspension components, or lose suspension components
7) no hub rings on aftermarket rims
If it only vibs when you hit the brakes:
Warped rotors is probalby it 95% of the time
If you have aftermarket rims:
Bad balance, especially if it uses tape weights. If the person doing the balancing select the wrong setting on the machine, it won't come out right. They generally have it set for machines that use the click on weights... gotta watch them.

in my case
it was just the tire balance not being done right --after three times too, that is what pissed me off. Three times--and I just decided to take it else where and get it done for $20 and that pretty much took care of the vibrations. Only thing is that there will always be some vibration that can be felt through the steering wheel from the surface of the road...

Ihad this same prob when i put my chrome rims on. I used a set of tires from my other 5 spoke rims (was on my DSM). My steering wheel would not stop vibrating. I had it balanced adn had an lignment done. Still it shook, i also tried different tire pressue, no luck. SO i said screw it and obught a new set of tires and had them done up. Drove the car home adn half way home i realized hey.. my car doesnt shake... it shimmys a bit arounf 70-80 but very little. Shimming is common with aftermarket rims... especially when you use wider rims with an offset. Also, there is more ground contact w/ wider rims so do expect some shaking at times b/c of road surfaces. My point, it might be your tires, are you using aftermarket rims?
I have
teh stock 97 GLE 15" 7spoke sawtooth aluminum wheels. I did go from 205/65 15" tires to 215/60 15" tires--which I felt gave me more grip of the road. I know overall it is nothing other than road surfaces--and even at 100, it was quite steady.
I may need an alignment, but it is quite faint--and it isn't pulling strongly to any one side, but with the cold weather, I will check the air pressure.
