XYZ Coilovers Interest thread
#201
Our price will be based on how much persons are on that list. So...just lemmi know how interested you are and PM me a price you are willing to pay.
#203
I think they are in the wrapping up stage right now. I should have word for all persons on the list very soon hopefully (it is entirely up to them at this point however). Just allowing them to do whatever they have to on their side.

It's just one of the drawbacks when dealing with a 3rd party vendor and the manufacturer, since XYZ is going to want X amount for cost for the coilovers, and the vendor agrees to pay that price, and then the vendor has to decide how much to mark them up to so they make a profit as well.

Im still in...for a few more days... wanna see where it goes then if no prices posted or discussed i shall be too...hate to do it but my suspension is about shot and i need something before august
#213
Yea so does mine... my setup is either on its way out or needs new tops... im gonna wait till weeks end and see what happens..we were told a week n half ago vendors were running number...wonder what happen with that

A month not a bad time frame, waited longer for my RSB deal, Cattman Products, so a month, month and a half is good especially with that many people you will probably get a good deal....Good Luck....

Guys...unfortunately the price in which we were willing to pay was not in the range of the vendors and they think that it would not be worth their time. I tried to negotiate....however that only went so far. They are certain about the quality of the product and assure me that they sell a lot for other types of cars. They mentioned that they get more sales and interest from the a33-a34 group, but not so much for the A32's. Nothing was sketched in stone though guys, it was just a chance we all took to see what could happen. In the end the vendor was a very cool guy overall and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him if you guys were still interested in paying full price. Good luck with slamming your cars everyone.

That's a load of crap.
No one has XYZ coilovers on these cars period.
Maybe a 7th genner, because I don't venture over there, but if they have sold more than 17 sets for an A33 and A34 then where are they?!
This is why I rather just buy blown coilovers and have them rebuilt.
They're in a hairy market because we know that there are superior coilovers being made for our cars and their niche would've been cheaper entry level setups than D2/KS which they would have easily outsold them and hit our small market w/ a splash, but now w/ the Vendor saying that I have my doubts about this company.

The vendor is BS... i see it this way... even from a business standpoint.. if they sold 10-15 sets at 650-700 shipped or even slightly higher theyd make money because WE ALREADY KNOW what cost on them is.... so what...theyd make a lil less than what they WANT... theyd still make money...NOW because they dont want to discount them as an intro price,no one is going to buy them when people know 100% what is good for our cars already on the market so now they make NO money...i can totally see how business smart people are.....smh... if there really was that many units sold im sure at least 1-2 of them would have popped up on one of the nissan forums....but i hvent seen any and ive been here since 2007.... they obviously arent taking us serious....which in reality becomes their loss because this could have opened up a new venue for coilovers for us and money in their pocket...now im sure most of us will go elsewhere as i will be....greed is a nasty diasease and its a shame soooo many people suffer from it... i may still buy xyz just not from them.....or i may buy a used set of ksports and spend a few hundred on new shocks....their loss more than it is ours....
#233
... it dont cost nearly what msrp is to make them
#235
For the low number of units they would sell, they would be doing us a favor just making them. Its not in they're interest to make a low number of units and sell them cheap. Economics 101.
#236
MAP For these were what? $960? MSRP is a little bit higher I'm assuming.
If these are like any other typical coilover on the market the vender should be able to do under $650 shipped NO SWEAT w/ 17 buyers.
