great. They are XW4's. It's weird b/c they handle almost as well as my old Kuhmo Z's, and there is a GREAT improvement in the overall ride, especially when going over bumps or harsh pavement. I was beginning to think my car just had a bad ride, but new tires solved that. It rides so smooth now. I'm also happy b/c there is a 65k mileage warranty, they will last longer than 12 months....Another difference I noticed is that the steering is much easier around parking lots, etc. I am very happy overall.

 

Funny... I was beginning to feel the same about mine. Rebalanced the wheels, alignment, but still the noise and the shake. Well, when I put the snow tires on, the noise and shake were gone! I guess even though my old tires still have a little life left, they need to be replaced.

 

So you would recommend the XW4's over the Kuhmo Z's? Did you look at the Sumitomo HTR Z II's? Why the Michelin's? Also, are you located in a snow area?

 

It depends. If you do nothing but take turns at ridiculous speeds and actually go over 130, then yes I'd get the Kuhmo's....But what a waste of money for me, they only lasted 17,000 miles. The Michelins offer good performance and come with a 65k warranty. And Michelin is the best tire brand. I don't want Z rated tires ever again, they don't last for ****, and I can count on one hand the amount of times I acutally took advantage of the superior performance they offered. Yes, I am in a snow area. It's snowy out now but I haven't tested the new tires out yet.

 

it's not really all Z's that don't last, just the Kumhos, you have to look at the treadwear rating on a tire, Kumhos have a 280 treadwear, Pilot Sports have a 220, your new ones have a 420, my Falkens are Z's the handle wonderful and have a really quiet ride, and a 360 treadwear, they ought to last for quite a while, well maybe if I drive like a normal person for the life of them
