I have tried the stickies, but could not find a comprehensive "how to" pull the engine thread for the removal of a VQ30DE.

I'm picking up the DEK tomorrow, 89k from a 2001, and any advice as far as removal, new engine prep, necessary mods, etc. would be most appreciated.

For removing the VQ30DE, you may want to search for thr FSM and download your respective year for instructions on removal.

 

I'm no expert, but couldn't you follow VQ35DE swap instructions and adjust/tweak accordingly?
