huge cloud of smoke while driving

today on my way to work while i was driving down the highway all of a sudden there was a huge cloud of white smoke coming out of the tail pipe, this lasted about 30-50 sec just long enough for me to pull over then it stopped. nothing changed while driving, got to work it was fine after work it started no problem but when i got home it wouldnt start again and now there is oil in my 2nd cylinder. has this happened to anyone else if so how should i go about fixing it? thanks

White smoke would be steam. Hows your coolant look, full and clean? Are you sure there is oil in the cylinder, or are you looking in the spark plug tube?
What does it do when you try to start? Does it even crank over?

Take it to a shop and have them conduct a test for a blown head gasket. The device is commonly called a block tester. DO NOT spend money on the motor until you know the head gaskets are good. I suspect a blown head gasket due to the PO allowing it to overheat. A used motor will be cheaper, faster and easier than a head gasket job. Your sparkplug tube seals are also leaking, necessitating a valve cover gasket job. any spark plug boots soaked in oil need replacing as well.
