suspension specs?
Why is there no specs listed for suspension ... like radios that we can use to shop for one? Both oem and aftermarket, none of them lists their specs. Select a replacement is like word of mouth, suggestion from someone, and/or test rides. describing word soft, hard, good, pretty good, damm good, .... are so vague. Is good = good?
Surely they must have specs. Without one, they can't make one same. they can't control quality. Why are they not listed, at least certain info to help user to shop around.
Is it because they want to keep it a secret? or is it too many factors involved that you can't compare two reliably? Is aftermaket one a product of reverse engineering? I am not talking about one that is customly designed (by suspension specialist) for a purpose.
With that said, the final question: 4th gen suspension specs? which aftermarket one having most close to OEM specs? Spring never fails so strut is the one component to replace, why none can duplicate the oem specs?

If OP is looking for OEM-like ride quality, I've heard good things of Monroe quick-struts...

so if you replace just the struts, you've got OEM ride quality.
The main function of a strut is to stop oscillation.

Also. Some people want a more sporty, aggressive suspension set up. I'll use tein s techs for an example, some people like the way they ride, some say they ride like total crap. What I'm trying to say is, what someone's "firm" ride might be more of a "soft" ride of someone else.

In NYC, I can still ride enthusiastically without worrying about bottoming out or feeling any harshness. I'm on stock 16" rims by the way. Rim size greatly affects ride quality as I'm sure you guys know.
In upstate NY smooth roads I actually want the ride to be more firm Am I disappointed? No.
In the end, I think the H&Rs are a great compromise between rough city roads and smooth suburban ones.
