Possibly wierd clutch pedal issue (click for more..)

So long story short, I have a new issue today. My clutch has pressure but the pedal sticks to the floor about 4 out of 5 times. The pedal will be pushed all the way down, but clutch will still be engaged (because I can drive and powershift). I'm assuming it may be the slave cylinder? I've replaced it twice in about 100,000 miles. Is this common? I'm currently waiting for my wife to get home to help me bleed the lines and make sure there isn't an air bubble or something of that sort. Like I said there is pressure, no leaks and master if filled to proper level.

I'm sure this has happened to somebody and there is a thread on this but I clicked on about 7 or 8 links with no good results.

If I'm possibly over looking something, please yell at me...lol

Where is your fluid level in your master cylinder reservoir? Check all the lines for any leaks anywhere.

As far as the slave cylinder goes, they shouldn't fail that quickly. My car is nearing 180K miles and as far as I know it's the original unit.

How long has it been since you replaced the last slave cylinder and bled the system?

Hmmm... well it is possible you got a defective unit, or just bad luck that it failed prematurely. Try bleeding it and see if it helps.

Sink the clutch and hold for 15 seconds and then try putting it into gear. If it wont go into gear or the car tries to shut down on you, it might be the master. Also the clutch slave hose can get perforated from dried battery acid or other chemicals so if it turns out to be the slave, check to see if your terminals are extremely corroded.

My 2001 is doing the same thing. Its the clutch master cylinder. Do yourself a favor, and when you replace it, get a Nissan one. Got 2 bad ones from Advance.

That's not good. Sounds like master is bad; seal gone so fluid is being pushed up into the reservoir instead of out to the slave. +1 on getting a Nissan unit - job is a PITA and you don't want to do it twice.
