Another color scheme poll!

Sorry - I know these threads are stupid, but I'm looking for some help in choosing colors.

The nitty gritty:

1996 SE Dark Evergreen - this color looks black in all but the brightest sunlight. Just had all the rust fixed and the front end and rear half repainted. Emblems painted body color (they were all pitted and looking every bit their 16 year old age).

Tan leather - i30 seats and door panels.

2006 SL 17's (like Tigershark Dude)

Dropping on D2's this weekend - along with new control arms & all sorts of other suspension wear items + subframe collars)

Fastbrakes BBK for Z32 calipers up front (+ near future custom rear set up for rear Z32 calipers & Wilwood e-brake)

My color question...

My initial thought was bronze wheels with gold calipers and gold tuner lugs, but the more pics I see of gold calipers, the more I'm thinking I should go with orange calipers and lugs and bronze wheels. (looking at G2 caliper paint)

So, I'm looking for opinions.

I have the same color on my 97 and I found that gold wheels look great with that dark shade of green.. And maybe dark green or bronze calipers..

while gold and bronze look good, when picturing your options in my head, im iking the black and orange idea. bronze and orange could be okay. but i think black wheels with orange calipers and lugs would really set it off. especially if you painted your center caps a dark prussion blue, itd make the orange pop even better! and the orange combined with dark blue center caps would make the black look like it have a blue hue to it, like those black wasps that shine blue. sickness.

Glad you put "most" in front of your statements...

The SL wheels that I (and you) have use conical/tapered 60 deg lugs. These are also known as acorn lug nuts.

The terms "acorn" and "conical" when referring to lug nuts can be used interchangeably. Standard angle on these lug nuts is 60 deg (including the tuner type), so as long as the seat of the lug nut is the correct angle, they can be used.

going to have to check this when i get home. I purchased my lugs from the Nissan dealer for a "2004 SL" and the lugs I got were domed.

Acorns are rounded, not flat

A cone is flat, not rounded.

Hence my understanding that

domed=acorn
conical=tapered

Dropped on D2's now. Going with orange on the caliper paint. Still on the fence about the wheel color (I have smoked turn signals & red/clear ebay tails to install also) Not sure how low - I think it's about 3" front, 2 1/2" rear.

Bronze for sure, and why would you do orange calipers? YUCK
I say do the bronze wheels and black calipers, if you have the Z32 calipers then do the Nissan lettering in the same Bronze color as the wheels. It will tie the two together and still have a clean look.

Here are some visual aids (just a quickie in PS):

Bronze

Dk Grey

Flat Black

Calipers are Z32 - already got the G2 orange paint, so there's no turning back now. It looks coppery to me, not bright orange.

It's hard to tell from the pics but can you actually tell in person that its green? If you can then I'd go with dark grey and I'd do the calipers in lime green. The contrast against the darker colors will make them pop.

Yep - it's really dark - people call it black all the time. Looks green in the sun, but when overcast, it looks close to black.

One more teaser with the orange...are the lugs too much?

Here's just the calipers:
