power window problem

the drivers side rear door power window quit rolling up or down. i can hear the motor turning and the window appears to be on track. but the cable is totally loose. could it have come off a guide? i know nothing about power windows and i can't see what might be wrong as it is on the other side. any help would be great.

Your easiest bet would be to just replace the whole assembly. its fairly easy

these include the motor . 10mm socket and a screwdriver is all you need to change these.

The motor has a type of rubberish piece that grabs the gear to move the window up and down. Usually when hear it spinning that rubber piece has completely rotted and isn't grabbing properly. I recommend replacing the entire motor. I've changed all 4 motors on my 95.
