Are the left and right parking brake cables interchangeable?

I need to replace the right side parking brake cable. The parts diagram lists two different part numbers for the left and right parking brake cables. It seems they are different, probably in length.

I just wanted to make sure by asking anyone with experience about whether the brake cables are symmetrical, and the same with every respect except part number. Or whether they are different.

I can get a left hand side cable relatively at a good price, but it's actually the right hand cable that I need to replace.

Thanks for any help.

they are not interchangeable. at least i dont think so as they both take differnet routes to get to brake calipers

I have replaced mine and family members a few times. They mount up differently. There are a few brackets built in to the cable to secure it to the chassis. Im sure they are not exactly mirror image but even if they were, the brackets would be backwards. Perhaps you could make it fit, but its probably not worth it.

.... why chance ruining a brand new part? Not worth it IMHO

I think if you get an aftermarket cable, it can mount on both side. I remember taking off the brackets when I replaced my left side cable to modify them to fit. I believe the oem cable brackets cannot be removed.

Part #s c95004 and c95003, Left and right respectively. Just bought both for about $60 shipped. (rather than pay $498.25 from the stealership).
But does anyone know if anyone has done a right-up on this?... might help me and some other people to dig one up.
