r34 Headlight, FX-R projectors, Which Shrouds?
Hey guys, I was able to pick up a set of black R34s, from doing some searching seems like the FX-R 2.5 projectors are pretty nice for an OEM set, so I decided I will try to use those and mount them into the R34s.........found a new set for $80 shipped on ebay brand new with clear lenses. I am straying away from the MH1 or the MD2S because they seem to be entry level compared to OEM projectors.....plus I want to mount the projectors further back so they look like a stepped setup compared to the high beam reflector.
I can't seem to find many pictures of them installed, and can't decide on which shroud to use. I know some got the E55-R shrouds to fit with cutting, would the ocular fit or what should I use to cover all of the projector? I don't mind cutting, trimming as long as it covers the projector nicely. My goal is to seat them
Would I need to remove the reflector entirely for this project? Pics of during install and final product appreciated.........thanks guys.

I'm using some trimmed Apollos at the moment. E55-Rs would fit nice in there from my measurements. I was going to get some of those but had these laying around.
Low beam reflectors are going to have to be removed but I don't know what you're going to do about the high beam reflectors since they're attached to the low beam reflectors in one piece and cannot be mounted without them.

Chris, where are the mounting point? Anyway I can trim around what is not needed on the low reflector side and still keep the highs?
Can the highs be mounted independently anyway? I have no idea since I haven't opened them up, and not too many detailed pics from all my searching.......I hope this doesn't turn into a quad retro......
Also, any detailed pics of your Apollos and how they sit over the projectors?

There's gonna be no low beam reflectors left by the time you finish trimming. There's two ball/joints up top and one screw on the bottom. That's it.
Maybe you can drill in the side of the high beam reflectors and put some nuts and bolts but I'm not sure. I've never done that before.
This is the only pic I have at the moment:

Thanks......hmmm this is making me re think if I want to use FX-R projectors.......I guess I have to open it up and take a look and see what I will be working with.....Thanks again for all the info Chris.....
If anyone has inner pics of the reflectors and how they are mounted, that would be great....

Chris,
I saw your name being mentioned in this FS thread LINK
I see those RX projectors are mounted without the low reflectors but they have the high reflectors, if that is not your work sorry, the seller mentions a Chris....
