'97 Infiniti I30 with CEL Code 0505???
'97 I30 (yep, same one with the strut problems posted earlier), received a CEL yesterday whiile trying to test tranny mount by revving engine with foot on brake to see engine movement, wife said that "tranny was acting funny on Saturday" so I thought I'd check.
Anyway, while doing this the engine stumbled badly a couple of times, the CEL came on, and the engine actually stalled. I quickly pulled the codes and got 0505. I checked the site, and 0505 means "no fault found", so I'm in the clear, right?
But if I'm in the clear, why would I receive a CEL in the first place?
I then googled Infiniti I30 0505 error code, and a million posts pop up about the infamous 5th gen iac issue? Why the hell would a 4th gen 0505 mean nothing and the 5th gen 0505 mean iac / fried ecm?
I don't think there's anything wrong with my IAC because my idle is fine and the car seems to run fine. However, it did stumble and stall during my mount test, and I did get a CEL. Wife drove the car to work today with no reported issues, and no reappearence of the CEL?
Can I get a definitive explanation on the 0505 CEL for a 4th gen? Also, any suggestions on next steps??? My apologies in advance guys, I guess this is my week to be a dumbass!

The 0505 gotten by counting the blinking CEL lamp is a mystery to me. Last year there were a lot of posts on tis, but the definition is what you read - no fault. Why it come on, I don't know and I never read anything to answer this.
Then there is the P0505 DTC you get from using an OBD reader. It is a completely different critter from the blinking 0505. P0505 is a 0205 blinking CEL lamp code.
You have to understand Google searches. It will give you a search hit based on a partial match. If you do the Google search again, look at the results again. It had the letter P in front of the 0505. Then try the search with quote marks around the 0505, i.e., "0505". The results will be different. The quotes mean exactly this, not partially this.
