Stock Ypipe
With the WS y-pipe and high-flow magnaflow CAT I failed inspection here in MA. After throwing the OEM CAT back on with the WS y-pipe I have passed the last 2 inspections.
In MA we have strict emsissions test next to CA so I kept the OEM y-pipe just for future precautions.

If your Y-Pipe is in good condition you should be able to sell it. Some people prefer stock over aftermarket. Personally I think the engine runs more quietly and smoother with the stock y-pipe.
I did not notice any power improvement with a Warpspeed Y-Pipe and it started making a droning noise after year or so. I put a stock Y-pipe back on the vehicle.

I'm saving the stock cat and y-pipe in case my emissions fail in April when I next have them. The aftermarket y-pipe I got has pre-cats, keeping it as close to stock as possible, so I'm hoping the emissions won't be a problem.

I did some research and found out 1 month prior to that 2010 inspection MA changed their emission tests to just reading the ECM. They no longer test the exhaust.
I just passed inspection again today with the WS y-pipe and OEM CAT.
In CA that would be a false statement. I didn't pass with my Stillen Y-pipe

I regret not keeping my stock y-pipe

Peaking at the papers I failed that inspection because the Magnaflow HFC gave off the P0420 code a few days before the inspection. It was throwing that code within 3 months of installing that CAT back in 2010.

ya they're gonna change that here in canada too
but that'll be for obd2 cars only... i'm not sure if my 95 is obd2, code reader plugs in on the left side in the drivers seat area but i just read some older threads asking this and some people say all 95 were obd2 and there's a plug for it in the passenger footwell. gonna check it out tomorrowi think that way of emissions testing is stupid. all that should matter is what comes out the tailpipe at various loads, not silly emissions equipment its just a money grabbin scam lol. evap stuff in my engine is deleted in my car and all is good.
i actually can't wait till next year for another test hahaha i wanna see how much better i do with everything properly working! i'm gonna see if i can get someone's readings from fairly new car, fully stock, that has a similar sized engine to compare readings...
I'm not the only one who got that code with the magnaflow HFC. Do a forum search 'magnaflow P0420' and you'll see a few other members relating to it. Myself and those other members might of been given poorly made CATs. The magnaflow HFC that WS distributes to us is made for a Buick. My OEM CAT is approaching 150,000 miles and it has never given off that code.
