??? about my AUTO tranny

98 gxe auto, got it at around 60k miles. now, it shifts hard from first to second(kinda cool, feels like a VB recal), but then from 2 to 3 shifts slow as heeeeeeell. about half a second to a second. is anything wrong with it? or is it just gettin old? or is that normal? it's kinda cool though, cause if i time it right, when it shifts from first to second and i floor it, gives a nice nice push.

Time 2 change your tranny fluid?

When's the last time you changed your tranny fluid? The synthetic fluids help out a lot in cold weather. The shifts stay nice and smooth throughout a greater temperature range.

well i'm leavin to go back down to florida in about a week, so is it worth it to change it? i mean, if it's basically good for it anyway, then i'll go ahead and do it. but i'm a starving college student, so ya know, my budget is minimal.

Think of it this way. A new trans or rebuild may run you 2 - 3 THOUSAND. A fluid change/flush will run you about 60 - 100 DOLLARS.

You do the math.
