what trouble are you having? theyre really straight forward, its just that the butyl can make it seem like theyre tough to take it. just have to push hard from the back on sturdy spot.

im putting some red/clears on in a few weeks, dont want to screw up the paint or the seals and have never taken these apart before. just want to see what clips/screws come off where and where to apply pressure so as not to screw up my old tails. thanks

The closest thing I could find was the DTM mod on vqpower.com.

But it didn't have many pics of the removal process

You won't screw it up. It's just 4 nuts (each light) and unplugging of harnesses, then push slow and steadily in a solid spot from inside the trunk on the back of the tailights as already mentioned...Go for it dude.

I think he means make sure you either reuse the butyl and put it back in kind, or put on new stuff if you happen to need it to prevent water leakage.

If you dont seal your tailights you will get water leakage. So in between the tail light and trunk you need some type of water proof seal. Usually a strip that looks like string cheese and you just stick it around the the sides of it. Forgot what its called. Adk at home depot.

are you talking about removing the taillights for the car or removing the red and orange lenses from the taillights themselves.

your post makes it sound like you are talking about removing the taillights, which is super easy...

if you are talking about removing the lenses from the taillights themselves, that is a whole different matter and I have no idea what the best method is to do that.

When I've removed my tail lights, I used a windshield sealer that is in a squeeze tube. I don't clean the old stuff off, I just add to it. You need to have a 1/4 inch thick layer.

each lamp has 4 10mm nuts. gonna have to use a ratchet extension on certain ones. That sticky crap holds them in good, i actually thought i missed a nut (no homo), just gotta pull hard and theyl come out (no homo). Just leave some sticky **** behind to prevent leakage.

I recently installed some red/clear taillights. It was my first time. Its pretty straights forward. Basic tools. If you're getting the red/clear from ebay [Eagle Eye], the weather strip is provided for each piece.
