1998 nissan maxima oil leak rear timing chain cover

I'm new to Nissan's and helping a friend fix his car since he cannot afford the $2,300 repair at the dealership. We found the oil leak right where the rear timing cover mates to the block so we will have to buy a ton of grey RTV and pull the engine, timing chain cover, both oil pans and rear timing chain cover. Does this sound about right? If someone has done this repair before can you please let me know what things to look out for, best way to remove engine from above, any secrets or tricks to make it easier. Thanks in advanced!

Mine is leaking and it is so costly I havent even fixed it after about a year of leaking. I think $1500 is a fair price however. It really is an involved job

Thanks for the link! Hopefully we can get this done the right way this time. It's been to the dealership and 2 other mechanic shops for the same problem and the leaks normally comes back right after the warranty expires...
