unloaded calipers

I ordered a set of unloaded calipers for my 98 Nissan maxima is there anything that I will need to buy before I install them? can I use the old mounting bolts?

Besides brake pads, swap calipers out and used old mounting hardware.

Are your calipers seized? and which ones are you replacing?

Fronts and back?

You'll need to bleed the brakes after the install. You'll need these supplies.

1) Brake fluid, 1 bottle should do it
2) Clear vinyl hose (Autozone should have) Should fit over the bleeder nipple
3) Someone to help you bleed the brakes or buy a vacuum bleeder kit
something like this

You probably already know this but the rear caliber pistons turn so have the tool to turn it. Otherwise, everything is good. Oh, and don't forget to put those retainer shim things on.

I meant the replacements, when he puts them on they probably wont yet be compressed. And I have no clue what its actually called I think i bought it as a piston compressor/rotator or something along those lines. They have it at all the local auto parts places and it basically is a cube with a 3/4 socket hole that you stick an extension in. There is a different pattern on each side for different cars so pick the one that applies and then the extension -> ratchet goes on the opposite side. I just did my brakes and had a hell of a time compressing those rears.

I just replaced my rear calipers and I used the bolt that came with the calipers. Don't forget to buy brake grease. Wal-Mart sells them. Also don't forget to torque your bolts.

Just get you a clear hose line that will fit over the nipple of the bleeder screw so that you can see the air coming out of the system. Once all the air is out (no more bubbles) you are good to go.

I just changed mine also. To be quite honest I was fine getting some ebay ones. They came in a set of 4x zinc coated slotted/drilled with 4x ceramic pads for like 190 or so. I haven't tried jamming the brakes yet but after bedding them they work fine for my every day driving.
