Blower Fan making weird noises for 96 maxima
My old blower motor just went bad. So after some testing, we figured out that it was just the motor that died. I ordered a new one and picked it up later that week. After removing the fan (the gerbil wheel thingy, which was an incredible pain in the butt) from the old one, I put the old fan onto the new motor, spliced the wires together and turned it on.
I quickly noticed this rumbling sound coming from the fan. So i turned it off and checked it over. I found that the fan wasn't tight up against the motor. So i thought "oh! I'll just tighten the nut!" and so i tried. But sadly, i twist the nut over and over but nothing appears to change. My brother said something about a reverse screw design or something. But i just can't figure it out. The area where the nut is pushed against the fan is slightly worn down. I just need some help.
Is anyone else having this kind of issue?

You shouldn't have bought a universal motor that you have you figure out how to make it fit and work. You should have bought one made for a 1996 Maxima.
What nut are you talking about? If you are "twisting the nut over and over but nothing appears to change" maybe you have stripped it.
Post a photo so we can see what you are talking about.
