exhaust question

exhaust question

just bought a 98 gle, having to replace the exhaust from the engine back, was wondering if i put racing headers/cats/ and catback system if its going to hurt the car, or cause computer issues

It won't at all, just make sure u us ur O2 sensors...

with only 1 upgrade it wont confuse the computer like on some other models but if you get into bigger mods then you will need a tune by at least a SAFC or something similar

FED Maxima(s) are easier Cali Maxima(s) may need O2 Sim

that's normally needed going to bigger MAF housings, larger injectors, swapping in a 00-01 intake....etc

I think this may apply to 99 Maximas and later only. My 98 California I30 is way less complicated than my friends 99 I30. So much simpler that I was able to change my knock sensor without removing the IM, unlike his car. The exhaust side is simpler too. His 99 has an O2 in the exhaust manifold right behind the radiator. My 98 doesn't have that one. For me the 1st O2 sensor is down below, bottom of the Y in the Y pipe.

Well i got a 98 as well and I have 3 O2 sensors total.....but you're you're probably right regarding when the secondary O2 were added! Just trying to help remove his fears.....
