How long do springs last?

I'm looking to upgrade my struts and keep my stock springs, I have 92k on my 95GLE. Can I keep my stock springs or is it due for a change? How long do they last? I haven't heard of springs wearing out. BTW I'm look to get KYB AGX struts due to the overwhelming approval from people's inputs. I'm run 15" stock rims as well. I'm grateful for any info and suggestions.

Why not drop it as well. It wont cost a lot more. But it wil look a lot nicer even with the 15" rims.

some people arn't below the ages of 25 and prefer to keep the luxury ride with better rebound capability..

I'm a 27 year old professional who drives clients around in my Max all the time.

I'm dropped!

The max is so freaking high stock that when you drop it, it's more like stock is with most other cars. And with aftermarket shocks, the ride is 90% of stock.

And it looks a heck of alot better!

I do some driving the NYC and especially around the FDR drive. There's this one section that launches you in the air around 34 St., and driving slower is a health hazard there, so I want to keep the 4x4 height to avoid any bottoming out. Also Maximas are list 8X in the top 10 most stolen autos in the city, so I'm not too interested in catching any thief's attention. I've lost one Max in the city before I'll go with SprintMax's info and just replace the strut and keep the springs. Thanks all!

Depends. You don't "have to" change springs. The only reasons to do it are if you want to lower the car for better looks and improved handling. The cost on labor is the same, whether you change the springs or not. That's one of the main reasons people choose to do this when it comes time to replace struts/shocks - so it's up to you. . .

Man put the struts on yourself. I did it last weekend, took me about an hour. Its really simple, though i did put the rear shocks together wrong and had to redo them. I left the stock springs and i'm glad i did, the ride is significantly improved, with the comfort of a luxury car still. I put those AGX's on....fine strut, i'd recommend them most definitly.

If you're addressing my comments, yes, I agree - I will be doing my own suspension swap this weekend. I have tools & can do this job myself. I merely mentioned the "cost" issue on the labor for the benefit of anyone who didn't intend to do the work themselves - that's all.
