I swapped out my TPS, it seemed to help for a bit. Car stalled today on the road, pissed me off. (2 or 3 times)

What would cause the car to drop down to ~490 rpms when im in first gear and breaking?

Then last time it stalled it straight up dropped to like 50rpms... kaput.

A totally different issue the car has is that sometimes when i step on the gas it takes a while for the car to start moving, then a whole bunch of torque is felt.. kinda like how people describe a highstall torque convertor.. think perhaps i need to clean mine out?

No clue. Just tired of this.

BTW, if the TPS helped for a lil bit, then cars doing this again... is there something like a recall on 4th gens for this? Last i checked 97's had no recalls. I've got an auto..

Thanks :> Hope to get this fixed n hookup some ECU & VB fun.

You changed a new TPS in your car already?

Why? Old one already dead?
Anyways.... most of them need to be adjusted properly (at least the old ones did...)

Try VBX Maxima site:

sounds like fuel starvation to me. Change your fuel filter and check your vaccum lines.

Yep, thats where i got the TPS thing. The car stalled worse b4. it was better for a while.. now its starting to get pissy again.

It was only like 54 bucks and uhh i stalled at school (while going into the turn lane as ppl were crossing) .. and power breaks went... that was the last straw. i forked out without even testing it, didnt care at that point.

Hi, great site, thankyou for your generosity of your time.

Quick question, if pin #1 from your write up, one the male plug furtherest from the drivers side has 0 volts does that mean there is a problem in the ecu? the car runs with it plugged in or not with very little change in rpms during the process, thought for sure it would throw a CEL. Only PO codes read from the reader is 0325 KS, 0120 TPS, and 1705 tranny or TPS which were cleared a few days ago and have not come back. car has 200k miles.

look forward to your response

Powell

this is an old thread and all, but double check that you have the right pin.
