Reinforces my thinking that colormatching is the best way to go

oan - have you thought of dumping the sunroof spoiler?

Quick question What was used to install it. I had one key word being HAD, i used 3M tape and reinforced it with the 3M glue, was doing 75 on the parkway i hear a loud flapping next thing you know its about a mile back. I ordered another waiting for it to come in the mail (ionic). Just asking for a few installation tips. Thanks

+1 for the color matched splash guards. it'll pull the whole look together nicely.
i understand everyone can and should do as they like with their car, but my input is to remove the nismo stickers on the oem wheels. less is more. just wanted to say it nicely, since many others probably wouldn't.

well, i had a body shop install it so if it does fall off i'm going back and asking for my money back. he used the heavy duty 3m outdoor tape and put 2 layers of it on the ends cause of the gap. you can still see sunlight through the tape, so i'm guessing at 1 point i'll have to retape it. mudflaps are messed up a little in the rears, and the passenger side got bent in, so i'll probably not do them unless i hit the lottery. lol

Hanging in there, thanks. glad to see you're still reppin the 4th in a good way bro.. Still miss mine (RIP). Battled the tranny issues with My 6th, and now she's wandering all over the road and looks like she needs a new D/Side balljoint/LCA. Sometimes sounds like rusty nails on a chalkboard when parking and turning the wheel.

Keep up the nice work bro.

I double up on the heavy duty 3m tape, prepped the glass with some alcohol, and used some adhesive promotor before applying the tape.

its just a thought for now. i kinda like it to be honest. i might take it off in the spring just to see how it looks. they're cheap enough, and there's plenty to be had.

How much would you say is a "good" price for an OEM sunroof spoiler IYO used and then for new?

LOL, I think you took my question the wrong way. I have already check on ebay (who only have a no-name brand for 20 something dollars) and the classified in here but I just wanted to get someone else's opinion on an excellent price. I actually know of a seller and would like to make a reasonable proposition to him the first time through. In my mind, I think that price should be strictly less than $45 but I don't know whether that is unreasonable. I am not a lazy user who doesn't do research....trust me!

I've used 3M tape from Autozone no problems at all since June of this year and usually do 80mph, and short burst of a 100 or more and nothing has started flapping or came loose......

you only need 3m tape, no glue. if it didnt stay its because of your prep work. both mating surfaces need to be cleaned thoroughly, you should scuff the underside of the spoiler too, itll help the adhesive on the tape bite on better. adhesive promoter also helps.

thanks man, believe it or not there's little bubbles that broke open and now i have little white spots on the spoiler. luckily, he gave me a ton of touch up paint. so much that i had to buy little bottles with the cap brush in the lid.

i was thinking about putting a bead of clear marine silicone on the top where the water seems to go through. thought it might make the spoiler a little more durable and keep the water off of the 3m tape so it does'nt become loose. thoughts???

you dont wanna get any glue on the trim around the rear glass. itll never be the same color black again.
