will it work

I'm getting ready to swap a 95 max motor into my 97 because of low miles. Are there any parts that I need to swap over or change. I no longer have the original motor, but will all sensors and vacuum lines work in order with the 97 harness. Thank for all info...

The 97 may have more emissions stuff mounted on top of the intake manifold but other than that they will be the same. All of the plugs are the same. If you do have more emissions stuff that the 97 ecu is looking for you could always swap in a 95 ecu and be done with it (the 95 ecu would not be looking for the extra stuff that the 97 may have).

Change your mind on the 3.5?

what did you do with your original motor? I have done many swaps but I don't throw away the old motor until I get the replacement in and working properly. You will need the emisions parts to make everything work properly as mentioned above.

Ur wrong here,

A stock 95 motor is diff. When compared to a stock 97 motor emission wise

95 was the one with least emissions, 96-98 added few extra emission components such purge valve, purge solenoid, map sensor, than again in 99 added more emission components such as per-cats,4 o2 sensors instead of 3, swirl valve etc

the 4 o2 sensors was for CALI spec only though. All 4th gens had two precats in the stock y pipe iirc.

I'll take your word that the stock 97 motor is slightly different than the stock 95 motor.
