Hey guys,

I've been going through the same "monroe" struts atleast once a year and i'm looking to switch brands to something that'll last me longer.

I drive quickly through an area with lots of hills and humps (frost heaves) and i'm sick of blowing through struts so fast.

Any recommendations for the this particular environment?

thanks as always

Monroe is a very good name, don't they have a warranty?
We're you running the Sensatrack or the Monroe Matic?

KYB's will give you more ride control.

If I remember they were the monroe sensatracks - the all in one assembly (strut, spring, mount, etc).

Hmm, and I just bought a set of Monroe's from RockAuto. I put their Heavy Duty shocks on my 1994 ImpalaSS, so I figured these would be good.

Now I just gotta decide if I'm installing them myself or paying to have them done...

Just got this 96. Lots of squeaking at slow speeds on city streets from left front suspension so I plan to replace the struts but not the springs. Saw your post and went to Rock Auto. They list shocks for this car also. Does it have shocks too? Should I replace struts AND shocks if so? Thanks a bunch.

so far I have used Monroe Sensatrack on 3 of my cars... 3 years ago I put those on both of my corollas and so far I have no issues... last year I put the Sensatrack on my Audi A6 wagon and no worries so far what so ever... those are nice struts for a simple daily driver... I personally like them and haven't had any issues with them... but again I might just live in an area where the roads are better... make sure when you replace them to get a good pair of strut mounts and bearings for the front... Over all the Sensatrack is a nice affordable strut that gives your ride a nice smooth cruising experience, sure a no match for the Tokico or KYBs in my opinion

Get the tokico illumina setup if you stay at stock ride height. Lifetime warranty and adjustable. I changed my struts once in the last 8 years and it was the rears that blew out.
