replaced alternator , battery and brake light flash with rpms, light dim, hesitation

I replaced the alternator in the maxima because the battery died the old alternator was.not tested, neither was the alt. Determined to be problem..

Anyways

I replaced the alt. And it was fine for a day and then the next day the brake and battery light flash with RPMs (at about 35003500) instead of being lit before the alt. Replacement.

I tested the voltage at the battery and it read 14~16 volts

When the car is revved the lights dim as well.

Also At about 4000RPMs it hesitates

Please.any help.is.appreciated what could.it be if.net the alternator

What year Max do you have? If a 99, it could be the coilpacks causing the hesitation issues your describing.

Re-check battery, re-check alt.

Always start with the basics in mechanics. Start your car with accessories off and remove positive wire from battery. If car dies right away, alternator is your issue and if it does not, get your battery tested.

Make sure your batt ground isn't loose. You just replaced the alterntor and didn't have these problems before, right? Go back and check everything you did to replace thealternator.

That alternator you put in is FUBAR. You stated you get up to 16 volts. You should NEVER get 16 volts. Replace that alternator.

Not sure that's a good idea to remove the battery from the circuit. Use a good testor to ck the alternator output at the battery while connected.

Too much voltage can do a job on anything electronic. including your ECM.

And we've been seeing a lot problems with new and rebuilt garbage being sold. Hitachi rebuilts seems to be the best bet for Alternators.
