Spark With Sensor issue? No Start Help!
Good day!
First let me apologize, I'm one of those join up when you have a problem peeps, trying to help my brother. I'm really active on forums for cars I own, and I know all the one question and leave guys can be a bit frustrating... and now I'm that guy. Hope you guys can help me get a 1995 Maxima back on the road though.
Thanks a ton in advance guys.

- Car won't start, the whole time we're were working on it it stumbled once, I think one cylinder fired, then nothing.
- Fuel pump primes nicely, plugs getting wet
- Got spark
- Plugs not fantastic, but plenty of electrode
- Cranks strong and hard
- New Altenator, battery
- NO CODES
Thanks a ton in advance guys.

Was this something that happened out of the blue or did you do some other work on the car and then it wouldn't start?
Do you have spark on all cylinders. If the timing chain gets off a tooth, you will have spark on some cylinders, but not all. With the timing being off, of course no start. If you changed the water pump, that's when the chain can jump a tooth.
Another thing is the crankshaft sensor CKPS(POS) on the flywheel. A lot of junk can build up on them and keep them from working, or it could be bad.
See the service manual for how to test. Section EC. Starts on page 197, but the testing is on page 201.

Thanks, no other work on the car, just failed to start one day. They had trouble with it once before, but they had run it out of gas. I;ll check out the FSM, thanks!!
