Problems at Start up

I've noticed it a few times in the last 2 or so months, but now it seems to happen more often. I start the car, RPMs jump up as normal, but dip shortly after sometimes to the point of cutting off. Now if I see this happening, giving it a little gas will at least keep the car on until my RPMs level off to normal....Any ideas what the problem is?

first like always, clean throttle body, but in my opinion, its ur idle air control valve, if not then throttle position sensor, look up some of my posts i did about this, becuz i had same exact problem except mine wouldnt even start up, it would stall right after i started it, changed idle air control valve, and wah-lah, gone, this seems to be common occurence.

I had the same problem, I thought it was b/c my car didn't like the cold. It was not happening in the summer, just in the cold of winter. Well, I took everybody's advice and cleaned out my throtle body. Problem solved, I start up and idle is as steady as brand new. Here's the link:

Good luck

I had the same problem

I cleaned the throttle body and the butterfly plate. It had some black sticky build up on it that made the plate stick after sitting for a while. It is real easy to clean and took me about 30 minutes total. Noticed a huge difference in throttle response after I did it.

Can we make this an FAQ item? Or at least a sticky during winter. This seems to be very common when these cars get cold...
