The only alternators I've seen are the OE 110 amp (California models) and 130 amp (federal models).

lol

Why do you need 200+ amps?

Maybe this belongs in the audio and electronics thread?
Any good audio shop can build whatever strength alternator you want.

I have a NAPA 200amp that works fine with my 750RMS audio amp, but I have an upgraded battery also.
~and that 200amps comes at 2,000 rpm.

Welcome to the org.

Yeah, general recommendation is anything over 1000 amps get a stronger alternator or capacitor.

Honestly, I have a 500 watt sony sub and a 500 amp. Never heard a reason to go bigger.

both the maximas and the i30's had a 200amp and 160amp alternator option i believe. ive seen them around. ebay has um. ive seen a couple in jy's but never needed them so never thought to pull um. There was some thread here that had the color codes for the power outputs. i believe they are red or green.

Yeah they have a 250amp alt. on ebay for 230 bucks but that just doesnt sound right. Pretty low priced for 250amps. I wonder if it actually does the 250amps....

I've heard you can only get 50-75 dependable extra amps without enlarging the frame. Murano and Quest alternators reportedly fit and put out ~150A.
It may be possible to rewind a quest unit for 200-250A.

All you have to do is go to Google and type in "high amperage alternator" and you will get results like this:

https://www.dcpowerinc.com/vafproduc...3.0L+V6+VQ30DE

This one is nice because it has high output at idle. A lot of other alternators have to be at a higher rpm.

You don't need an HO alt. Just get more batteries. Take it from me. I have a 2200watt RMS high end system. You may need to replace the stock alt maybe after 5 years but HO alts are just bad for the electronics in your car. Expensive as hell and have premature failure more than a stock one. Also the fact that you can't change it out and put it into another car.

Wrong. Think of a battery as a water tank. You still need a pump large enough to keep up with demand. Doesn't matter if you have 50 batteries, the alt will commit suicide trying to keep up, and never keep the batteries fully charged. Id give the alt a month or two to live.

HO alts for Maximas don't come cheap because there is a low demand. Now if you found a Honda unit that fit you might get it cheaper.

Try excessive.amperage@gmail.com.
The link was posted by another member , http://www.excessiveamperage.com/ , his name is Nathan. I got mine from him in December. Works like a charm and no more electrical issues.

I just emailed them. The best offer Ive gotten was from SInger and it was 439 bucks for a 250amps alt. Plus he includes an overdrive pulley to boost the idle output (this will spin the alternator faster at low RPMS to boost idle output by around 30 to 40A more then the stock will).

I'm pretty sure the alternator pulley will be smaller than the stock one. Maybe the belt tensioner will be able to take up the extra slack in the belt, maybe not. You might have to get a smaller belt.

FYI - the stock belt is 43.5 inches.

1500 watts u dont really need high output alternater get ur self yellow top battery u can ether have it as an extra 1 which will work better than cap that will run for about 220 and voltage stablizer razin for about 60 to 80 bucks or if u want to use the yellow top up front get a amp cap cell (soundstream) with those three things u wont get any light dimming i have those 3 things on 6000 watts of bass. and it doesnt dim unless i crank to about 5000 then i would recommend a high output alternater that run for 6 to 700 bucks u choose.
but with those 3 things i mentioned its only about 500 bucks.and ull good with that.
u wanna check high output alternaters check here.

I know Mechman alt. was offering a deal were if you purchase a alternator and XS power battery at the same time, you received a 10% discount. Dont know if this is still going on, but you should call them and ask. I havent heard that much info regarding Stinger alt.( not saying there good or bad) but the two that I heard alot about when researching HO Alt. is Mechman and DC power.

Its not Stinger its Singer Alternators. So when I do get my HO alternator do I need to replace my battery up front or what?
