Engine bogs when clutch is pressed

Engine bogs when clutch is pressed
Often, when my car has been in the same gear at a constant speed for more than 30 seconds or so and i press the clutch, the engine rpms will drop to 300-400 or so for a moment, like it is going to stall, and then returns to the normal 600-700. At the same time the dash fan will slow down, but the lights do not dim and the radio stays the same. Is this abnormal/serious, or should i not worry about it? My fateher's truck does not do this.
Thanks, Chris
P.S. I searched but didnt find anything about this specific occurrance

Do you have the same cold-start near-stall problem that a few of us have been having? If so, clean the black soot from around the butterfly in yor Throttle Body. Do a search for some instructions. This may be the cause of both, as the cold-start near-stall and drop-to-idle near-stall both relate to the car's ability to idle smoothly without relying on the Idle Air Control Valve.

just noticed something esle- my k&n drop-in is getting kinda dirty. could this be causing the problem? it has only been in there about 10k miles, i thought that you were supposed to clean every 50k? ill give that a shot tomorrow and see what happens.
