Replacing radiator thermostat necessary too? Where to find radiator mounting rubber?

My radiator is leaking on the both the bottom left and bottom right sides. It's not a huge leak but it has the potential to get worse. I've researched on the forums and most people end up replacing the radiator. I've looked at the directions and its pretty straight forward.

I've read elsewhere that its good preventive maintainance to replace the thermostat, yet on this forum most people just end up replacing the radiator and don't bother to replace the thermostat. Is it really true?

This part number 21560E MOUNTING RUBBER-RADIATOR,UPPER from courtesy nissan. It mounts on top of the radiator. The link below shows the diagram. Mine needs to replaced, but I couldn't find anything similar on autozone and advance auto. Please let me know if someone has found anything similar. Thanks.

Kasemodz, these rubber grommets are OEM stock. The simplest solution is to go through the dealership. Courtest or Tri-Cities Nissan have good on line pricing. While you are at it do the radiator top and bottom hoses. The only thing remaining is the thermostat - do that too while the system is drained down. The part was less than $20.00 I think. I just completed the whole swap to include my water pump. Look in the Group Deals and go with the Koyo radiator. Great OEM replacement radiator at a great price!

I would also suggest replacing the lower rubber mounts also.

21506-51E00 upper $1.91 @ nissanpartszone.com
21507-1E400 lower $6.11 built before 09/1996@ nissanpartszone.com
21507-59Y00 lower $6.11 built after 09/1666@ nissanpartszone.com

If you order just these parts on-line, the shipping charges will probably make them more expensive than buying them at the local dealership.

If you are not getting the exact solution, then replacing the whole Radiator is more advisable. If you go for the other option then it the leak will occur again in future. So, at that time you must go for replacement then why not replace it right now.

If the t-stat is working, why replace it?

If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
