Now taking orders for Cattman header/y-pipe systems

Wanted all to know that we're taking orders for the next batch of Cattman Header/Y-pipe systems for the 4th gen Maxima (and 95-08 Maxima, Infiniti I30/I35 and 02-06 V6 Altima). Only need a few more orders to begin production, with completion 4-5 weeks later. 95-99 Maxima header/y-pipe systems are $837 (reg $880) with max.org discount. Price varies for other applications, call for more information.

Cattman FastCats are available at a special discount price of $225 and free shipping whenever purchased and shipped with another exhaust part.

In case you own a 5th gen Max, or know someone who does, a batch of our 3" 00-03 Maxima catbacks is in production now and will be ready in a couple weeks. A few units are still available.

We welcome your questions and orders by phone at 520.575.6195, open 9-5 MST, M-F.

Oh how tempting, I was literally just now browsing for a y-pipe to buy. If only I didn't have so many other things to buy for my Maxima right now.

Headers > any y-pipe. Solid 20 whp gain, no y-pipe can accomplish that consistently. I use to be a "y-pipe gives the same", but not anymore.

And I'll point out that we haven't made "stand alone" y-pipes (the ones that can be used without headers) for a few years and probably won't again. As someone else has noted, the advantages of the 3-piece combined header/y-pipe system outweigh the cost differences for most people.

Such a great mod for 4th gen. So glad I was in last group buy for this.

Don't miss out on this opportunity everyone.

If I get another 4th gen I will get another set. lol

Aftermarket y-pipe $225
Cattman y-pipe ~ $325
Cattman headers = $837

I'd like to point out that CM headers are 2.5 times more than a CM y-pipe. Does the end user get 2.5 times the HP? No sir. 2.5 times the performance or benefit? Not in my opinion. Not to mention the install is 2.5 times harder and time consuming.

and yes, I know there is a sound difference too...

Believe me, I'm not not knocking the product as I have them on 2 of my Maximas, but IMHO, headers aren't for everyone...I have regular y-pipes on my other 4 Maximas where I'm not trying to extract every last HP and couldn't be happier.

Its the law of diminishing return, applied to system enhancement. Each additional increment of improvement (in this case HP) costs substantially more to achieve. Just using arbitrary numbers, its true to say that the first 10whp are easy and cheap with a y-pipe, the next 10 are quite a bit more expensive because header manifolds are required, and 10 more are even more expensive due to cams, etc..

Just depends on what someone's bolt-on horsepower goals are. If that's over a certain level - I'll let others debate the tipping point - headers are a requirement, not an option. If a modest hp improvement is adequate, then obviously there's no point in wasting money on excess performance.
