Installing HANABI HID system today

Just got back from Audiolinks (97GLES) with the Hanabi HID kit. Thanks Freddy for all your installation tips. I'll post again as soon as I finish with the install. Looks like this is a 15 minute job.

Pics to follow....

UPDATE

The install was 15 minutes. Mounting the ballast and starters may take a while. I want this to look as close to factory as possible.

All I can say is WOW. And it's 2:30 in the afternoon. I did a compare to my 80/100 Diamon Blues. This HIDs make them look yellow. I can't wait till it gets dark outside to fire them up. The beam pattern looks pretty good so far. I can see a hot spot in the same area as the standard 9004 bulbs. I'm temped to pull both bikes out of the garage just to sneak the car in to see what these look like in the dark, but I'll wait.

Sweet. I was waiting to see what everyone's reaction to these kits were and they all seem really good. Take pics as soon as you can.

I had to focus them down with about 20 turns of my wrench for each side. I don't want to get pulled over for them being to bright.

I love em.

Standard 9004 bulbs have 2 elements. One for low beam and one for high. The HID bulb is only a single capsule of Zenon gas which has 2 electrodes that produce an arch. (similar to a spark plug?) The arch ignites the gas in the bulb and it produces light. One HID bulb = one source of light.

9004 bulbs have 2 elements, thus having 2 sources of light. Thats where you get high and low beams from.

Finally it got dark. Went for a drive around town to get beer and check out the new HIDs. I have $ucking daylight in front of my car. These are definately worth it. Nice pure white light with just a very slight hint of that blue everybody loves!!!! The beam pattern looks fine. Nice hot spot right in the center. Easy to adjust them against a wall. I have them set almost straight ahead, just down a hair. You can see the white light from these hitting the road a very good distance ahead of you. There definately brighter then factory HID units for sure. Excellent upgrade to your lighting system.

So now the car is setup like this:

HID Headlights by Hanibi
PIAA Extreams 1157 @ 27 Watts in the corners
PIAA H3 Platinum fogs.

Everything matches up great. I don't think a pic from a camara will do them justice. These are a must see to appreciate !

I have the same setup except for the Hanabis. after reading your posts and opinions on them, looks like that mod is getting added to my list. I'm pleased with my PIAA Platinum Superwhite 9004 and H3, PIAA Xtreme 1157, BUT I'd love to have real HIDs.
Thanks for sharing your day...now I gotta get $500 saved up!!!

I focused mine down to the point of where my stock bulbs were. They are still bright.

Did you just use the double sided tape to secure the ballast and starter, or did you attach it to the included brackets as well. I haven't installed mine yet since I haven't found a decent place to put everything in yet (It's for my Volvo). Hopefully, I'll get them done soon. Also, did you upgrade your wiring harness and change the fuse as well? Thanks.

Regards,
Mike H.

I'm not sure what you mean but there's no drilling at all. Everything is plug & play. All you need to do is find a good spot to put your ballasts and starters.

When I first got the kit, I looked at the manual briefly and it does say to take a hole saw to the headlight unit. Glad Freddie was able to take the time to give me the lo-down over the phone. The 9004 kit fits together nicely in any 9004 unit, so no hardcore install required. The only tough part is to find out where you want to put the starter/ballast boxes and keep everything looking neat.
