Maxima Superiority
I LOVE MAXIMAS, which is why I am trying to get one.
There is really no doubt that Maximas really have the best of all worlds.
Its a four sedan which has three levels which allow you to jump into to all worlds....sports sedans, luxo sedans, sports luxury sedans, and a really good family sedan.
You get an 5m or a 4a...(SE or GXE).
(ALL WITH A PHAT V6)
But the fact is that I have driven alot of cars and they all excel in something and lack in something else.
For example...my 94 Caprice...it handles great..very comfortable...fast...but it has GM refinement.(not so great)
..then you got my cousins Q45...I love the Q but do you know how many times i have had my *** kicked by a Maxima?
too many to count. Its a great car but lacks some power.
I am not ammused when i am sitting in a Q45 that cost 50grand+ and a car half the price (close to half)that has the same options rips me apart.
And last is my friends 95 Camaro Z28...we all know Z28s are pretty fast...but what does it tell you when a 95 GXE 5m
(bone stock) can hang very close to a car thats supposed to be the best bang for the buck.
I rather get the maxima which is very refined, roomy, and faster than mostly any other car.
(i know you all agree)
2 weeks ago when i first decided to get another car i decided on the Maxima....then i had this crazy idea that i might want a J30 instead...after testing that out..
(the dealership gave me the car for the day).. i decided the Maxima would be better...
then i thought....maybe a Legend GS 6m....its a nice car but for the money its just not worth it..
then after being sucked into the whole car name thing..i thought...i should get a I30 since its i like infiniti.
But then i realized that i am paying more for some sheetmetal and the infiniti badge.
at this point in my life i will not pay 4-5 grand more for something that has a different name but is esentailly the same car.

thats really the key.
the fact that infiniti can basically rebadge a car and add different sheet metal (4th gens) and sell it for 10 grand more....should tell you something about the Maxima.
Thanks for your time......
Mike

All by myself.
I live in a small town in Missouri. To my knowledge, I have the only performance max in town. Ya, there's the others with their glasspack mufflers and exhaust tips (mostly 3rd gen's). All the people I know have Honda's. Biggest reason I bought my max is cause I wanted a car to mod that no one else had. Lots of stock max's in town, few modded ones. Anyone on here live near Joplin, MO? I'd like to race another Maxima. My favorite quote, "That doesn't sound like a Maxima!" (CAI, y-pipe, high-flow cat, custom catback)

I had a 94 Accord EX (VTEC) and it loved to rev. BUT my 95 and 99 max seem to cruise better at high speeds. I live in midwest and can cruise at 110 mph for hours at a time. The honda wasn't stable at those speeds and it took too long to accelerate to that or deccelerate in case of fuzz. Also, I found myself driving the honda harder b/c no torque off the line. Disregarding price, stock Max wins. Also test drove V6 Honda and again-no torque down low-you hit about 3000rpm and its like a turbo kicked in but below that it aint got s@#t!
