i maunually checked my ecu and got the code 0406 which is crankshaft position sensor (reference) i know this has been posted many many times but i can get a good picture of the part i need i know theres two sensors but i want to know which one i should get the most obious difference i can tell is that one has two screw and the other has only one, and also that one has where you can put a flat head screwdriver in there. so just want to know which one i should get thanks!

Can you not see which type you currently have on your car? Should be able to look in through the wheel well and see. Right?

yeah i went out to clean it and it had some metal shaving in it. i had bad starting problems but now its good, do you think that it affect my VSS? cause my tach wasent working just the rpms now it seems to work o.O

The one sensor is called REF (reference) and the other is called POS (position). They are not the same sensor and they do not do the same thing. REF is on the crankshaft pulley and POS is on the flywheel. Get the one you need.

But if you cleaned it and the engine starts and runs OK, you don't need to replace it.

i cleaned the one from pulley from just guessing, and it started good but now its all faulty so im going to change it now thanks for reassuring me that i did pull out the right one..wheew

Hopefully it's not a problem with the wiring where you may have bumped the plug while cleaning it. Even if it is you'll just need to replace the plug. Just wanted to throw that idea out there. It is a possibility.

yeah thanks, im going to change the sensor and if doesnt work ill be here for some more trouble shooting but hopefully its an easy fix
