Doing my swap currently and I know u need adapters for 3.5 intake cams on the dek but do u need anything to swap over de intake cams on the dek? And if not, how does this not cause the valves hitting the piston if the duration is different. Thanks in advanced.

DE. & DEK intake cams are the same. Direct swap.

Meaning exact same, or it will fit perfect. Which is what I thought. People on this forum say that the de intake cams have longer duration. So how is this so and it not hit the piston?

For arguments sake, they are one in the same.

The specs are so close it really does not matter.

Don't waste your time swapping them.

nah, they ain't. De intake is more aggressive and dek exhaust is more aggressive than de exhaust.

he posted about the vq30dek swap and wanted to spend the money on vq35 cams and adapters. Since he had a de and putting in dek, for no extra money spent he might as well use de intake and dek exhaust. with full bolt ons it''ll breathe a lil better

Longer duration means they are open for longer, they don't make the valve protrude into the piston.iirc De and dek pistons are the same

I thought he wanted vq30de intake cams in his DEK.

For more info check the all motor section stickies. Lots of cam data there

Dang. Wish I had followed everyone else first. Motor together and getting ready to put in car. Was gonna switch intake cams but jsutter said there practically the same. So I didn't. Too late now. Do have another question. Have a wide band in, vafc controller, but read I need an adjustable fpr for tuning. Is this correct or can I use the dek regulators like how they r stock. And if need adjustable, at what psi does the rail need to b for best results
