How to properly reassemble the main timing chain tensioner?

So I would like to know how to properly prepare the main timing chain tensioner. I did a valve job and I did put everything together and the main chain jumping and the timing is off now. I was told I needed to dip the tensioner in oil before reassemble.

Is this correct? If so how to I do the correct? What kind of oil do I use and for how long?

Thanks

just make sure it's coated in oil, regular motor oil is fine

When you first install it, let it idle for 5 seconds to build some oil back inside of it and slowly increase idle to 1500 RPM until noise disappears.
