electrical nightmare
electrical nightmare
im lost. and this is my last option before i set this car on fire.
i have a 95 base model that started bone stock. then i installed a vq35 hybrid and 5 spd. then bought a 96 GLE parts car and swapped over the entire body harness, ecu, interior, etc. pretty much everything that the base model didnt have.
now about 6 months after the body harness swap i sold the motor and tranny and got a vq30 w/auto trans out of, i believe a 95-96 maxima. motor had low mileage and the car was driven to me so i know its fine. so the car is currently back to bone stock.
ON TO THE PROBLEM
in its current state it just about everything in the car is not working..
no electronics at all really other then the starter which only cranks in neutral, and a few warning lights on the dash.
half of the swap was done by someone else who knows their way around a maxima better then i do, so i trust his work. auto ecu is in, body module is in. ran through the entire harness 6 or 7 times and cant figure out anything.
only thing i can think of is a fried ECU but would the ecu cause no interior or exterior lights? or door operations to fail? i can understand fuel pump not running, etc but for everything electrical to take a crap at once?

I know that the auto air BCM's are different than the manual climate control BCM's.
That's about it.
Pull your radio and make sure it's connected properly.

Aackshun would prolly know right off.

Yo buddy I assume that u started with the basics ya? Check the fueses and all...I know stupid question... anyway if alls good with fues try checkin the circuts at the point of failure I.e.like pull the plug off the domelight and Check it with a test light for power and ground. If u have an issue no power or ground the next steep is to find out the pin# at the pcm/bcm and check the entire circuit/harness with a wiggle test till u find the problem (wiggle test:connct an ohms metter to one end of the harness/circuit/pin# connect the other end to the other side of affected circuit and wiggle the harness while u watch the metter. Hope this helps...
