Here is a a photo of the Warpspeed y-pipe for a federal emissions Maxima. All brands will look very similiar.

Do you know if your car is federal or cali emissions?

Nissan didn't make Cali SE? That's interesting.

SE's come in all shapes sizes and years.

Cali Specs come in all years too.

The only year that matters for the cali spec cars are the 99 Cali Specs.

So you can have a 98 SE Cali spec, and use the Y-pipe in the image above, but oh gawd, not the 99 Cali Spec...

they all look to be for 3.5L's. it would fit on a 4th gen except you might need to grind the crossmember like with obx v2's and extend the front pipe up to the header

The 5th gen Y pipe looks like a 99 Cali. There is a cat in the rear down pipe and just a straight pipe that goes to the front pre cat. No aftermarket unit will have equal pipes and no cats.

The 5.5 gen Y pipes shown won't bolt up to the 4th gen manifolds. You could make a small intermediate pipe, but those aftermarket Y pipes wont flow any better than a stock 5.5 gen Y. The cats are not in the Y on the 3.5.

post no 7 & 9

this is the discussion I was looking for regarding the 5.5gen fitting on the 4gen. Now are the only fabrications needed extensions to the headers?

Fixed.

But.. But... Why will it not fit? Crossmember? I understood that the 3.5 and 3.0 were about the same size and the piping was very very similar from the engine to the main cat
