Radio harness

I bought a 97 2 months ago and the previous owner cut the radio harness. Can i replace that harness off of another car and how difficult is it. It looks like the harness runs under the dash? Where are the plugs located? Thanks for all info. May all the Father's have a blessed Father's Day

If you are going to put an after market radio in the car then I would just wire the harness for that radio. You can find maxima wiring color codes for the radio wires. Use that along with the color code chart that comes with your new radio. Very simple to do, you can even use crimp connectors. You may just have to extend some wires depending on how far back they cut them.

If you are putting in an oem radio back in, don't! Just get a new one haha

Got ya but the idiots cut the wires so far back that even the clock doesn't work. I just want it to be corrected and the way it came from the factory before putting in a new radio.

THAT FAR BACK?

Are you sure that's the issue with the clock? The clock has solder points that are known to go bad...was the first thing I did to my 99, resolder the damn clock board and all is well.

But yes you can go to a junkyard and see if they've got the same year and bose/non bose system max as you, then cut the appropriate wires from that car...color-match and you're good to go.

For a lot of cars, Crutchfield sells both universal radio harnesses AND vehicle harnesses (with wiring diagrams). I've used them on 2 of my vehicles.

Yeah i order from them all the time. I also install my own stereo systems. Just wondered why they cut the wires like that. I really want to disconnect the entire harness (bcm, clock and all associated and replace the harness for them because i think their all connected
