Cleaning the engine/engine bay
Any suggestions? One of the more interesting ones I read was this one which I've seen mentioned elsewhere:

Just wondering what anyone else's success/avoidance stories are, what should be bagged/taped off, etc.

Another thing you can do is buy the tire gloss and do every black part under the hood. It gives that shiny black look that comes from the showroom. Also, be careful to not spray directly on the sensors, and electrical harnesses. other than that All that he said was what I do. And I would definitely go for simple green instead of the engine bay cleaners sold at autozone, napa, oreily's etc. Its the same thing but the engine cleaner usually costs more and you get a lot less.

Tip - Use a leaf blower to dry it up good when your done. Spray a water based dressing all over, let it sit over night. Wipe any excess the next day and it will look like new under there.

Personally, I would just cover alternator if its not dirty and remove air intake components and block TB. Reason for this is because the tranny never gets cleaned properly with the intake components there.
