Trying to replace starter, cant remove intake/air cleaner box

I've been trying all day to replace my starter. I can't remove the intake system / air cleaning box. Its annoying. I'be been reading, Googling, Youtubing and I'm over it. I can't afford a mechanic
Tired of the bus. IM DOING THIS. Can someome please walk me through?!

There are 4 metal clips on the end where the air box is; unclip those all. Unplug the wires by the airbox and loosen the clamp attached to the accordion looking tube closest to the engine. Then it should all be easy to pull off. Make sure you unplugged those wires at the end near the end of the entire assembly (by the box) and careful not to drop or bang the Maf sensor (the part where the wires I mentioned connect to).

Best explanation I can give you.

HI CLIMAXX
I couldn't locate the 4th clip to get the resonator? Detached from the air cleaner box. (I think that's right ) everything is detached from the throttle body side already. That's where I was stuck. Thanks

Hey PTM,
where is the 4th clip? If you're standing on the drivers side, There are two at the end, back left so I can't locate the back right clip. I can see a screw connecting the cleaner box and resonator. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Feel around the whole box.

It's not rocket science.
No need for a mechanic.
Keep at it.
Maybe use a flashlight.
You'll get it.

Got intake system off, trying to remove the huge two bolts. I'm just not strong enough, is there some type of loosening agent? Any suggestions?

Use a big metal bar for leverage, or hit the end of the rachet with a hammer. If the bolts look rusty, then spray some WD-40 on it. And remember, don't force anything, just get a bigger hammer. Posted from Maxima.org App for Android

You probably have already done this, but make sure you disconnect the negative terminal on the battery. Otherwise, removing the power connector on the starter can produce a big spark. Happened when I replaced the brushes on my starter.

Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get a 2-3' iron pipe to put over your ratchet handle. Those bolts will loosen easy as hell.

Just did it yesterday, with a breaker bar, iron pipe will do the same thing easily.
