Car stalls if foot is off gas with exhaust, no problem without?
Hello,
I just changed the wires and coil packs in my 96 Max. If the exhaust is hooked up before the cleaned cat, it stalls out my foot is off the gas. If it isn't hooked up, the car is loud and runs. For some reason, it is having trouble keeping speed on hills, ,but the fisher price lawnmower exhaust sound is gone. The flex pipe was changed due to cat crap blocking it. I cut the long pipe by the first bend thinking more cat crap, but it was clean. This is driving me insane. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am smelling gas, but not sure if that means anything even though I wasn't smelling it before I did the packs and wires.

Sorry, I meant plastic with springs inside that are attached to coil packs. $97 from the site named after a river in South America. Seemed to behave after a test drive until the exhaust fell apart, forgot to get clamps so I used furnace cement which normally works great.
